OK, I've seen major downpours that are like solid walls of water (even drove through one years ago), and we've had some weird lightening and thunder before, but NEVER have I seen these altogether at one time.
The weirdest thing is it only lasted about 10 minutes. The NY Times reported today that the winds were recorded between 60 - 80 mph, and the weather service may categorize it as a tornado. Since we don't get tornadoes here in NYC very often, people usually sit up and take notice
Well, I guess it's really been 4 days of semi-hell, and one day of torture.
OK, let's see if I can explain this without writing a book. Riiiiight. Late last Saturday afternoon I was getting ready to go out to a local store to pick up a few things, and all of a sudden my nose started bleeding. For someone who's never had a nose bleed before, it was pretty unnerving. It took about 15 minutes until it finally stopped, and all the while I kept saying, it's too late to call the doctor,
Well, despite the never ending heat and humidity, I actually did some modeling today. Now I have to tell you I'm not what you would call a real modeler, I just play at it every once in a while.
My first props I did in a trial version of Rhino 3, but that was years ago. Then I "found" Blender, and have done a few props with it, learning the not so easy interface while doing so. Recently, after reading some posts on various forums, I decided to download Wings3D and give it
Well folks, I've finally posted my 500th forum post just a few moments ago. Considering I've been a member here since October 2004, that's not much at all, but I hardly ever posted much on the old site when it was at Bondware, maybe 25 posts at most. Since the site has moved to it's own servers, I've been spending a lot more time on the forums, and it's finally paid off . . . WOOT!!
Now if I could just get my skills to a point that I feel confident to enter in any of the monthly contests,
it poured this afternoon, and now the high humidity's gone, and since it's still cloudy, the temp isn't too bad either. Here's hoping the humidity stays reasonable tomorrow and the temp stays in the 80s.
OK, not much more to report at the minute, so just a short blurb for now.![]()
