I stumbled across this while playing around with the Alternate Diffuse method of fixing plants, and while I find the Alt Diffuse method good, (Which I will show you below as well), There is a better solution (IMHO). I am sure this can be expanded on, so if you take this method and come up with something better... please let us know! This is a plant with transmapped foliage. One Light, Depth Mapped Shadows. See how there are dark spots where the back of the transmapped planes are facing towards the camera? That looks pretty ugly, LOL ... |

If you wish to read the spanish version click hereA little introduction is needed to better understand what a dynamic cloth is. It is a piece of cloth that don't have any "bones", and therefore can't be conformed to any figure. It's exactly like a prop but, it can be used only in Poser 5's cloth room. Having said all that, we can now continue.

Well, I use to think that lights are one of the most important aspect in a good pic. Even a crappy mesh if well lightened can be beautiful. Anyway, I have not chosen a bad mesh for illustrating my tut but a very nice and elegant one: one of the vase that Zhann made a long time ago, the dragon vase.

Indirect lighting is a great new feature in Poser 8. It allows us to directly do some things we had to fake before, like global illumination and ambient occlusion. Keep in mind that AO in Poser is a way to fake occlusion in a render. IDL (Indirect Lighting) does the real thing. |
